Heads of government of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan discussed bilateral relations

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zheparov met with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhasa Bektenov, who arrived in the country on a working visit.

In the state residence of “Ala-archa”, negotiations of the heads of delegations in an expanded format were held.

Akylbek Zhaparov emphasized the existing great potential to bring this year the volume of trade between the two countries to $ 2 billion. In 2023, the volume of mutual trade amounted to 1 billion 317 million dollars and, in comparison with 2022, increased by 11.6 percent. The export amounted to $ 455.7 million, and import – $ 862.2 million.

“I consider it necessary to continue to find new priority areas of cooperation and expand industrial cooperation between countries,” said the head of the Cabinet of Ministers.

In turn, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, expressed appreciation for hospitality and warm welcome. He emphasized the importance of deepening bilateral cooperation and strengthening interaction in the implementation of previously reached agreements.

He also noted the dynamic development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was held in a warm and constructive atmosphere, the parties exchanged views on all areas of bilateral cooperation.
