Heads of Ministry of Defense of CIS countries discussed issues of military-technical cooperation

In the city of Tula, chaired by the Minister of Defense of Russia Sergei Shoigu, the 82nd meeting of the Council of Ministers of Defense of the CIS Councils was held, the press service of the Russian defense department reports

The military delegations of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan took part in the work of the Council.

During the meeting, the leaders of the defense departments exchanged views on the military-political situation in the world and on the boundaries of the Commonwealth. Based on the subject analysis of threats and security calls, the CIS countries are planned to develop the interaction of friendly armies in the field of defense and military cooperation for the near future.

Against this background, a discussion of the tasks of military and military-technical cooperation and prospects for its further development took place. The content of proposals is aimed at increasing the combat effectiveness of the national armed forces, achieving a new level of military cooperation in the field of ensuring the defense and military security of the Commonwealth states.

In accordance with the agenda of the meeting, the head of the defense departments considered a set of issues on the implementation of multilateral interaction within the united air defense system of the CIS participants.

planned joint measures for the training of troops (forces) of the air defense for 2024; The military-technical and financial issues of the further development of cooperation in the field of air defense have been approved, the issues of building national segments of the combined air defense system of the Commonwealth states.

During the joint work, the defense ministers analyzed the main directions of development of the cooperation system in the field of military-professional training of military personnel and field training of troops; approved the structure, material and technical equipment and the principles of the joint division of humanitarian clearance; supported the creation of the Basic Scientific Organization of the CIS states in the field of researching the problems of ensuring military security and the practice of developing military cooperation in the system of pre-university education of the CIS states.

In the interests of further development of the interaction of the CIS participants in the military sector, the Council of Defense Ministers approved the planning documents of multilateral military cooperation for 2024.
