Higher Electoral Commission Was Created In Syria

The Higher Electoral Commission was created in Syria to determine the members of the new parliament.

According to the official Syrian news agency Sana, President Ahmed al-Shara signed a decree on the creation of the highest election commission.

According to the decree, the new parliament will consist of 150 deputies, two -thirds of which will be elected subgroups formed by the Higher Electoral Commission. The remaining 50 members will be elected by the president.

The decree does not contain any information about the election calendar.

After the fall of the Baas regime, the dissolution of the parliament was announced at the Victory Conferences, held in the capital of Damascus on January 29.
