“Hospitals are overflowed, no beds”: Armenia has a “red zone”

In the last day, 1217 new cases of infection with coronavirus infection were recorded in Armenia, and the number of recovered amounted to 521 people.

According to the National Center for Control and Prevention of Diseases, 31 people passed from the complications of Coronavirus, 17,624 people continue treatment from COVID-19.

“The situation with coronavirus in Armenia is quite tense. The number of cases has grown by 50%, the infection spreads very quickly,” said the head of the epidemiology department and the Center for the Control of Diseases of the Ministry of Health of Armenia Romella Abovyan.

According to her, all age groups are prone to coronavirus, but a particularly noticeable increase is observed in children and young people.

Abovyan also noted that Armenia is approaching the “red zone”: “Hospitals are overloaded, the bed fund is exhausted, patients are in serious condition.”

Recall, for all time the pandemic in Armenia, 275,077 cases of COVID-19 were recorded, 6877 people with confirmed coronavirus died during this period.
