Hotels in Shahdaga work at a loss

For the first nine months of 2021, after eliminating the part of the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic effect, the financial and economic indicators of hotels and hotel-type enterprises have improved. In the Resort Complex of the Summer-Winter Tourism “Shahdag” the situation during this period deteriorated even more, reports Turan with reference to the State Committee on Statistics.

According to the statistical agency, in January-September of this year, the number of hotel guests increased compared with the same period of 2020 by 59.4%, services for services – 62.3%. During this period in the Gusar district, where the Tourist Center “Shahdag” is located, the hotels visited 30.2 thousand people (-8.8%). Although the number of overnight stays (55.5 thousand people-night) during this period increased by 3.9%, revenues (6.3 million manat) decreased by 22.2%. At the same time, the costs of hotels in the Gusar district reached 11 million manat. The state continues to cover the losses of the State Tourism Center “Shahdag” at the expense of the state budget.
