In the eastern part of the Spanish city of Barcelona, the hottest June has been recorded over the past 100 years.
The Spanish Meteorological Institute (Aemet) announced that since 1914, when temperature records began to be conducted, the hottest June was recorded in Barcelona.
The statement states that the average temperature in June of this year reached 26 degrees, and the previous hottest June was recorded in 2003 – 25.6 degrees.
The highest temperature of the month was recorded on June 30 – 37.9 degrees.
