A large dump of hundreds of tons of illegally dumped waste has been discovered in the British county of Oxfordshire, posing a serious threat to the environment.
Anadolu drone footage near Kidlington shows a huge mound of rubbish has grown in the floodplain of the River Cherwell, over an area of about 150 meters long. The height of the landfill in some places exceeds 10 meters, which clearly demonstrates the scale of environmental damage.

Local residents express serious concerns about environmental pollution and possible negative impacts on water resources region. According to preliminary estimates, the elimination of the illegal dump may require significant funds.
Liberal Democrat MP Calum Miller, who represents the area, noted that the cost of cleaning up the area could exceed the annual budget of the district council.

“Criminals dumped hundreds of tons of illegal waste into the floodplain immediately adjacent to the River Cherwell in my constituency, the Environment Agency has already said it has limited resources to take action,” he said.
Illegal dumping remains a serious problem in several areas of the UK. Local authorities and environmental authorities continue to strengthen monitoring, clean up contaminated areas and work to bring those responsible to justice.
