Hungarian Rapport beat Azerbaijani chess players and entered leaders of Vugar Gashimov Memorial

Baku continues a fast chess tournament and a blitz memory of the famous Azerbaijani grandmaster Vugar Gashimov.

Today 4th and 5th Rapid Tour were played. The sole leader is Hungary Richard Rapport, who scored 13 points. Today, he beat two Azerbaijani chess players – Vugar Asadly (1.5: 0.5) and Rauf Mamedov (2: 0).

On the 2nd place American Fabiano Karuana, who scored 12 points. He defeated Czech David Navaru (2: 1) and lost to Russian Sergey Karjakin (1: 2), which with 10 points occupies the 3rd line.

8 points have Navara and Shakhriyar Mammadyarov. Our chess player beat Rauf Mamedov (2: 1) and gave way to Indian Vishvanatan Ananda (1: 2).

Three recent positions occupy Mamedov (6 points), Anand (3) and Asadley (1).
