Hurricane “Mokko” is approaching world’s largest refugee camp in Bangladesh

Hurricane “Mokko” approached the world’s largest Cox-Bazar refugee camp in Bangladesh.

A powerful storm fell on Saturday on the coast of Eastern Bangladesh and Myanmar.

In the region, a warning is announced about an increased level of danger.

The Bangladesh meteorological service warned that the Mokko cyclone could lead to serious human victims and material damage in the camp and around it. Hundreds of thousands of refugees-ruin from Myanmar lives in Cox-Bazar.

It is reported that the hurricane moves towards Banglades at a speed of at least 160 kilometers per hour.

In the Bangladesh Navy, they said that 21 ship, marine patrol plane and helicopters are ready for possible search and rescue operations.

The country’s authorities warned that the heavy rains caused by Storm could lead to landslides in Chattogram, Cox-Bazar and the regions of the areas.

The UN and the Humanitarian organizations operating in Bangladesh sent several tons of food to the Cooke Bazar camp. Emergency brigades and vehicles are ready to work in case of natural disaster in the region.

Due to the hurricane “Mokko” to Bangladesh and Myanmar from the coastal regions, hundreds of thousands of people are planned to be evacuated.

The population is called to stay away from the coastal strip.
