The rebels supported by Iran of the Yemensky movement “Ansarullah” (Husits) announced the readiness to conduct a comprehensive and unconditional exchange of prisoners with the international-recognized legitimate government of Yemen on the occasion of Kurban-Bayrama.
The head of the Committee on the Affairs of prisoners from the Husites Abdulkadir al-Murtada said that the proposal covers all held persons and is aimed at the speedy exchange.
At the same time, the official response from the Yemen government has not yet been received.

In April 2023, through the mediation of the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross, a major exchange of prisoners was held, during which about 900 people were released, including citizens of Saudi Arabia and Sudan.
At negotiations in Stockholm in 2018, the parties exchanged lists with more than 15 thousand names, and human rights organizations believe that the real number of prisoners can reach 20 thousand
