The airport under construction in Zangilan received the international three -letter Code of ZZE. The corresponding resolution was adopted by the conference of the International Association of Air Transport for Passenger Transportation (Iata Passenger Services Conference). This was reported in the press service of Azerbaijani Airlines CJSC.
“International Airport in the Zangilan district is one of the important infrastructure projects in the Eastern Zangesure. It will play a significant role in the socio -economic development of the region. The assignment of the IATA three -letter code of the TRIL -WINDER COD is to create a large and modern logistics center in it “,” said Azal President Jahangir Askurov.
Assigned unique code is formed by using the names of the city (Zangilan) and the region of its location (East Zangezur).
ITA three -letter code serves for a commercial organization of passenger and cargo air transportation. It is used in international booking and in the work of ground services of airport complexes, that is, in international flights of flights, flight schedule, aviation communications, etc.
Earlier ICAO was assigned to the ICAO UBBZ four -letter Airport in Zangilan.
The construction of the international airport in Zangilan began in the spring of 2021. The completion of construction work is planned in September this year. Here they will be able to land and take off all types of passenger and cargo aircraft. The length of the runway of the Zangilalan international airport is 3,000 meters, width is 60 meters. The throughput of the air harbor terminal is designed for 200 passengers per hour.
