Azerbaijan attaches great importance to Iranian relations, President Ilham Aliyev said at a meeting with Iranian colleague Ibrahim Raisi, which took place in Ashgabat in the fields of the 15th Summit of Economic Cooperation.
“This is our first meeting. I am sure that this meeting will give a strong impetus to Azerbaijani-Iranian relations. … We attach very important relationship with Iran,” said Ilham Aliyev.

The leaders of the two countries also discussed the creation of a power industry between Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran, exchanged views on cooperation in the framework of international organizations, expanding trade and economic ties.
