On the occasion of the Day of the People’s Artist of the USSR and Azerbaijan, the Hero of Socialist Labor, the Laureate of State Prizes of Tair Salahov in his house-museum, which is part of the management structure of the State Historical and Architecture Reserve “Icherisheher”, a memorial event was held.
Opening the event, the director of the Museum of Saead Mirzaeva told about the artist’s life path, about the valuable work of art created by the master. And the House Museum of Tair Salakhov, created ten years ago at the appropriate order of President Ilham Aliyev, opened its doors to the public and became one of the main centers of art and culture “Icherisheher.”
Chairman of the Board “Icherisheher” Asker Alekperov noted that Tair Salakhov personified the Bridge of Culture and Friendship between different peoples not only in Azerbaijan and the Soviet Union, but also around the world. “His love for his homeland lives in works, chanting Apsheron, his oil fields, and the most importantly, the merdoms who lived there and worked. He created images of people who saw in life – it’s not by chance that most paintings of the Great Tair Salakhov have a deep autobiographical meaning” – Alekperov emphasized.
Speaking about the work of the Great Artist, Chairman of the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan, People’s Writer Anar, Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Family, Women and Children, Professor Hidzhran Huseynova, People’s Artist, Vice-Rector of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Arts, Professor Fuad Salaev, Folk artist Salhab Mamedov and others noted that the works of Tair Salakhov, who constitute a whole period in the development of Azerbaijani painting, today are exhibited in prestigious museums of the world.
Tair Salahov’s paintings are considered to be pearls not only by Azerbaijani, but also global visual arts. The works of the artist possessing multifaceted creativity have amazing features. His works are included in the treasury of world culture, in the golden Fund of the XX and XXI centuries.
As part of the event, the book “Dialogue” was presented, telling about the life and activities of an outstanding artist. The book was published on the initiative of the first vice-president of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, on the basis of the idea of the vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Leila Aliyeva, implemented by the Office of the State Historical and Architecture Reserve “Icherisheher”
