III International Forum “New Calls in Education” was held in Baku “

On November 5, the III International Forum “New Calls in Education” was held in Baku. Its main goal is to achieve a further improvement in the quality of education by discussing the educational requirements of the new era.

Speaking at the event, the Minister of Education Emin Amrullaev said that this forum is very important in terms of discussing new challenges in education. According to the minister, the inclusion of education as a separate section in the document “Azerbaijan 2030: national priorities of socio-economic development” and the definition of specific goals for the first time sets clear tasks for teachers.

The Minister emphasized that participating in international appraisal research, Azerbaijan becomes a participant in the global education system, which makes it possible to exchange opinions with colleagues from different countries and jointly solve the challenges and problems of the modern era.

E. Amrullaev noted that over the past few years, the PISA international appraisal study was defined as one of the main directions of development of education in our country: “Pisa is not only an indicator of quality, this is a whole science that gives evidence and scientific explanations what is happening “.

In turn, the Deputy General Director of UNESCO on education, Stephanie Giannini, praised the inclusion of the section on education in the strategic document “Azerbaijan 2030: national priorities of socio-economic development” and the work carried out in our country in this direction. According to her, one of the main problems is that 144 million children and adolescents around the world still do not attend school: “The situation is really sad. The training environment should be ensured. This is a fairly ambitious issue. School experience should become life experience. This should be the main goal of the policy of every country. Education is an emotional and social process in which experienced and qualified teachers play the main role, ”S. Jannini added.

In turn, special adviser to the OECD Secretary General on Educational Policy, director of the Department of Education and Skills, the founder and head of PISA (international assessment of students) Andreas Schleicher made a report on the topic “How to prepare students for the future?”
