The head of state stressed that negotiations are already underway with BP on the construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of more than 200 megawatt.
“I hope that these negotiations are also crowned with success. Other major companies show interest in this region. I must say that over the past 30 years, Armenians have destroyed all infrastructure in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, in particular more than 30 hydropower plants in Kelbajar and Lachin districts. We have already started large-scale work on the liberated territories and pay great attention to the electric power industry, “said Ilham Aliyev.
The President of Azerbaijan also noted that the state has already restored 4 hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 20 megawatt.
“In the same year, it is planned to reconstruct 5 hydroelectric power plants that generates the power of which will be 27 megawatt. True, compared to other stations, their volume is not so big, but only in Kelbajar and Lachinsky districts there will be more than 30 hydroelectric power plants. Of course, there is Great potential for creating on the liberated territories of solar and wind power plants. I want to emphasize that for the year we have created all the infrastructure, modernized the internal lines, built 7 substations on the liberated territories, “said President Ilham Aliyev.
