On Tuesday, September 13, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev adopted a delegation led by the President of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odilen Reno-Basso, the press service of the head of state reports.
The meeting discussed the expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EBRD in various fields. In particular, the bank’s participation in supporting economic activity in the NENEFTER sector, the implementation of projects to create jobs, increasing financing of the private sector along with state -owned enterprises, projects in the field of renewable and alternative energy was noted. The importance of expanding this participation in the implementation of future projects was also emphasized.
During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of supporting activities carried out in the transport and logistics sphere, as well as the prospects for the project, signed the other day between the EBRD and CJSC Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company, which provides for lending to $ 100 million.
Also, during the meeting, an exchange of views was held on the possible participation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the expansion of the project of the southern gas corridor, which is of particular importance for European energy security.
The parties discussed in detail cooperation in the field of telecommunications, emphasized the importance of signing grant, credit and design agreements on the project “Lighting Streets”, which will be implemented as part of the Ganja -Green City program.
