Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan is ready to sign a peace agreement with Armenia in Karabakh

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev announced the presence of certain issues on the settlement in Karabakh after the war in need of the decision, Interfax Azerbaijan reports.

“The post-conflict situation is very fragile. The truce is observed, but there are still many questions that need to be resolved after the conflict,” said President Ilham Aliyev on Tuesday at the conference “New look at the South Caucasus: post-conflict development and cooperation.”

President Ilham Aliyev added that Azerbaijan is ready to sign a peace agreement with Armenia in Karabakh, but does not see the response steps from Yerevan. “I have already said that we are ready to sign a peace agreement. But we do not see the response steps from Yerevan. On the contrary, aggressive, statements of the head of the Foreign Ministry (Armenia – Ed.) They are talking about Azerbaijanophobia, Turkopobia,” the head stressed States.

The president also warned Armenia from attempts to revenge in Karabakh.

According to the President of Azerbaijan, the destruction in Karabakh surpassed expectations in Baku. “From time to time we saw it in videos, heard information from international representatives who were sent to these areas (in Karabakh – Ed.) However, we saw that the destruction on the liberated territories surpassed our expectations,” said Ilham Aliyev.
