Ilham Aliyev: External forces tried to intervene in internal affairs of Azerbaijan

On the eve of the meeting with representatives of Azerbaijani youth, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev announced an attempt to intervene the external forces in the country’s internal affairs. However, as AzerTaj reports, Azerbaijan must preserve, first of all, its national values:

“We know our history well – for centuries, Azerbaijan was not an independent state, but was part of other countries. However, despite this, our country did not lose, but retained its national characteristics. Why? We have always preserved loyalty to your own National values, were true to traditions, storm them. Although, for example, if we take into account the Soviet period, at that time the ideology of Marxism-Leninism dominated. But despite the fact that we lived in a closed society, the national holidays were celebrated in every Azerbaijani family. We have been transferred from generation to generation national ideology from generation to generation, national features and, thus, have lost themselves from assimilation, from external influence. Azerbaijanis have always been opened to the world, but they put their moral code above all. If we managed to protect themselves in times when we don’t were free, and in centuries were in the composition of other countries, now, of course, we will keep our values. “

According to the head of state, Azerbaijan is an independent state and conducts an independent policy: “No external forces can interfere in our internal affairs. True, such attempts were and, perhaps, will still be. But these attempts were not given and would not give any Results. “
