Ukraine passed from offensive actions to a defense operation to exhaust the enemy.
This was announced in an interview with ZDF before appointing the Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by Alexander Syrsky, Ukrainian Truth reports.
Colonel General assessed the situation at the front line as a complex one. “We switched from offensive actions to conducting a defense operation. The purpose of our operation is to deplete the enemy, to inflict maximum losses to him, using our fortifications, our advantages in technical terms, in terms of unmanned aviation, electronic warfare, and the content of prepared defense borders,” he said.
According to him, especially tense battles go in the Kupyansk direction, where the enemy set a goal at all costs to capture Kupyansk and daily storm positions.
“In fact, the enemy began this offensive on October 3, 2023. And for 4 months it has been conducting an offensive of high intensity. Their losses, especially in the dead, according to the latest data, are prevailing 7-8 times,” he continued.
Syrus also noted that the role of drones in the war is growing daily due to an increase in their use on both sides.
It is also noticeable in the Armed Forces of Ukraine to use ground robotic platforms controlled remotely, which allows you to preserve the life of the military, Colonel General said.
Answering the question when the conflict and the prospect of its speedy completion ends, Syrfa replied: “It all depends on the level of support and the effectiveness of our actions.”
