In Armenia, they are unhappy with Lukashenko’s statements

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia commented on the words of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko about the process of normalizing the relations of Yerevan and Baku.

“We do not consider it appropriate to comment on the charming, divorced from the logic of negotiations and contradicting the allied and partnerships of the statement of the President of Belarus,” the Armenian media quoted the press secretary of the foreign ministry, Vana Unaanan.

The Armenian Foreign Ministry believes that these statements are called into question the obligations of the CSTO member signed by Lukashenko himself.

On October 28, a video of Lukashenko’s speech appeared on the Web at the CSTO leaders summit, in which he commented on the appeal of Armenia to the organization to exacerbate on the border with Azerbaijan in September. He called on Pashinyan to sit at the negotiating table with Ilham Aliyev through the mediation of Russia. On November 1, at a meeting with the Secretary General of the CSTO, Stanislav Zaul Lukashenko, he said that he believes that Russia’s mediation in resolving the conflict of Armenia and Azerbaijan is enough. According to the Belarusian leader, he does not understand why to intervene in the mediation of the EU and the OSCE, and why draw up the CSTO.
