In Azerbaijan, it is planned to apply a new concern model “The guardian family”, which is one of the world’s widespread samples in the world of child care system and allows you to transfer children under the care of the state, families where they will live in this family. For this purpose, institutional works are underway. One of the areas of cooperation with the UNICE Foundation (UNICEF) covers this particular scope. The press service of Mintruda Haqqin.az said that this was announced by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Sakhil Babaev during a meeting with the new head of the Azerbaijani representative office by UNICEF Alex Highkens.
Congratulating A. Haykens with a new appointment, the minister stressed that the protection of children and their development, the protection of their rights is an important part of the social policy of the Azerbaijani state. S. Babaev noted that social protection reforms are held in Azerbaijan, including in the development of a child care system, in this area there is active cooperation with UNICEF.
The Minister stressed the significance of the Social Protection Plan and the Protection of Children at 2021-2022, signed in May of this year. According to this plan, together with UNICEF, a pilot project “Model of Integrated Social Services” is being implemented.
A. Jaikens noted that over the past period, the Azerbaijani representative office UNICEF successfully cooperated with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, emphasizing that all efforts will be made to further develop this cooperation.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place in the current areas of cooperation, reforms conducted in the country in the development of the child care system, as well as the upcoming work on the “Plan of periodic activities on social protection and the protection of children at 2021-2022”.
