Foreign Ministry of Bulgaria called the Russian ambassador to Eleanor Mitrofanov. Representatives of the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry reported this on the air of the Bulgarian television channel BNT.
It is reported that the reason for the demarche was the announcement of Russia on the wanted list of the Bulgarian journalist Khrista Grozhev, who worked in Bellingcat.
Mitrofanova suggested that the reason for its call may also be the issue of studying the Bulgarian language in the new regions of Russia.
On December 26, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia announced Grozev on the wanted list as part of a criminal case. At the same time, it was not specified by which article the case was opened against a journalist. Later it became known that a criminal case was opened against Grosev for fakes about the Russian army.
