In Iran because of a woman’s judge in shorts, football broadcast was interrupted 100 times

The censors of Iran’s state television interrupted the football broadcast of tens of times due to the bare feet of a woman’s judge. This is reported by the Arab News portal.

It is about the match of the English Premier League between Tottenham teams and Manchester United, which passed on April 11 in London.

For Iranian television viewers, direct air frames were replaced by panoramic views of London more than 100 times due to the side arbitrator of the match, the Englishwoman Sian Massi-Ellis (Sian Massey-Ellis). The judge entered the field in standard form – T-shirt and shorts, but in Iran, such clothes are considered too frank for women and is prohibited by law.

Since 1979, for women in Iran, there is a strict rule wearing hijab in public places. In addition, until 2019, local residents were forbidden to attend mass events, in particular, football matches.
