Iranian-American businessman Siamak Namazi was released for a week from prison in Iran. This was reported on Saturday by Reuters with reference to the lawyer of Namazi.
According to the agency, it is still unclear whether this may be a step on the way to its complete release, and does it also indicate the possible liberation of other US citizens detained in Iran.
“This is a very important first step, but, of course, we will not calm down until the whole family can return to the United States, and their long nightmare will finally end,” the agency said the lawyer Namazi.
According to Reuters, Siamak Namazi and his father Bagger were convicted in Iran for “cooperation with the hostile government.” Bager Namazi was released by the Iranian authorities for medical reasons in 2018.
