Earthquake of magnitude 6.2 is recorded next to the northern Hokkaido Island, the country’s National Meteorological Administration reported.
The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Pacific Ocean near the southern part of the island. The hearth lay at a depth of 140 km.
Information about the victims and destruction was not received, the threat of the tsunami was not declared.
