In Riyadh will resume work of embassy of Iran

On Tuesday, June 6, in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, the opening of the Iranian embassy will be held. This was reported by the ISNA news agency with reference to the statement of the official representative of the Foreign Ministry Iri Nasira Kenani.

According to the report, the decision to resume the activities of the diplomatic mission was made in order to complete the process of implementing bilateral agreements on the normalization of Iranian-Saudi relations.

In addition, on June 6-7, Iran General Consults in Gidd and the Permanent of the Islamic Republic will begin to function in the organization of Islamic cooperation (OII).

The authorities of Saudi Arabia on January 2, 2016 carried out death sentences of 47 accused of terrorism and incitement to it. Among the executed ones, despite Iran’s protests, was the famous Shiite preacher Sheikh Nimr al-Remyr.

The incident caused a sharply negative reaction in Tehran. In protest, the demonstrators broke into the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Tehran and the building of the Kingdom General Consulate in the city of Mashhead.
