The Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Yekaterinburg extended until October 19 arrest to six citizens of Azerbaijan, detained last month in the case of a criminal group.
“The six extended the arrest until October 19,” said the interlocutor of the agency RIA Novosti.
Meanwhile, in relation to the son of the chairman of the Sverdlovsk regional public national-cultural organization Azerbaijan-Ural, the Mutvals of Shykhlinski opened a case of violence against a representative of the authorities, the press service of the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg said.
“The case was instituted in part 1 of Article 318 (the application of violence against a representative of the authorities),” the agency’s interlocutor said.
It is noted that the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg on Wednesday will consider the application of the investigation on the extent of restraint in relation to the Anthilus of Shikhlinsky.
Shakhin Shikhlinsky, the head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Yekaterinburg, was also detained in early July and released after interrogation.
Incident
On June 27, Russian security forces held raids in residential buildings in Yekaterinburg, where Azerbaijanis lived, during which two citizens of Azerbaijan were killed, several more people were seriously injured.
The Investigative Committee of Russia announced the detention of six people suspected of involvement in a series of murders. It is reported that all detainees have dual citizenship – Russian and Azerbaijani. The court decided to keep them in custody until July 19.
The incident caused an exacerbation in Russian-Azerbaijani relations.
