In Saudi Arabia, reopened millennial mosque

In Saudi Arabia, 20 years later, the mosque opened, built almost a millennium back. At-Towly Mosque, located in the village of the same name 30 km from the city of Baha, is one of the oldest in the region – she is more than 900 years old, the Saudi Print Agency reports.

The construction is surprising in that it was built of stones of the most diverse shape, the roof is from the juniper stems. A staircase is on the roof of the building, which rises Muzzin to take a call for prayer. Mosque area of ​​about 300 square meters accommodates 130 believers.

To open it for parishioners after a long abandoned state, the authorities carried out repair with the preservation of a unique historical color.

Restoration and recovery of the mosque was conducted within the framework of the project of the Crown Prince Mohammed Ben Salman on the reconstruction of historical shrines in the kingdom.
