AirCar conducted the first test flight with a person on a double model of a flying car in a wind exceeding 35 km/h and at an altitude of 8 meters.
According to the company’s statement, since 2020, AirCar has been conducting R&D in the Bilişim Vadisi technological park and has developed single and double models of vertical take-off and landing (EVTOL) with 85 percent localization. The first manned flight was successfully completed.
The test passed on April 5: the founder and CEO of AirCar Erai Altunbosar took to the air on a single prototype and landed on the helicopter site of the technopark, where he moved to a double model and successfully completed the first flight with a passenger.
The flight lasted about 10 minutes and passed at an altitude of 8 meters, subject to all safety measures, despite the strong wind.
In his speech, Altunbosar called this achievement not only by a technical breakthrough, but also part of the vision of future urban mobility: “With AirCar, safe, environmentally friendly and autonomous air transportation is no longer a science fiction. This is a reality – and it takes place in Turkey. The next step is to create a pilot production plant and the transition to serial production. Today we are part of the five companies of the world that performed the world that performed Evtol pilot flight, ”he emphasized.
AirCar double model is designed specifically for joint and autonomous air transport. Its characteristics include: a flight range of 50-80 km on one charge, a carrying capacity of 200 kg, 5 times quieter helicopter, 10 times lower operating costs, an 8-motor system for increased safety.
