In United States, Group Of Migrants Was Deported To South Sudan Contrary To Court Decision

Immigration and Customs Police of the United States (ICE) deported migrants held at the Texas maintenance center in South Sudan, despite the decision of the federal court prohibiting such actions.

According to the documents submitted by migrant lawyers to the court, a plane with dozens of migrants, including citizens of Myanmar and Vietnam, arrived in South Sudan.

The documents noted that the deportation of these migrants held in Texas violated the court order temporarily suspending the expulsion of persons who have exhausted all the legal paths of appeal in third countries.

The materials also say that the fact of deportation was confirmed by e -mail one of the ICE employees. Lawyers demanded a court order obliging to immediately return the deported persons back to the United States.

The federal judge of the Massachusetts district Brian Murphy in March temporarily suspended the deportation of persons in respect of whom the final decision was made to send, indicating that the movement of these people to third countries, without the possibility of protecting their rights, could pose a threat to their lives and security.

The judge noted that these persons should be able to state how deportation can endanger them.
