In Yerevan court read sentence to nephew Sargsyan

The nephew of the ex-president of Armenia Serge Sargsyan – Narek Sargsyan sentenced to five and a half years of imprisonment. The corresponding verdict at the court session on Wednesday carried a judge Wahe Misakyan.

Sputnik Armenia writes that, given that Sargsyan stayed for some time under arrest, he will spend 3 years behind bars and 6 months.

The criminal case against Narka Sargsyan was initiated back in 2018, he was wanted. The nephew of the ex-president of Armenia is accused of illegally storing weapons, illicit drug trafficking and abduction. In 2018, Interpol discovered him in Prague, where Sargsyan hid with a passport in the name of Franklin Gonzalez. Prague Court and the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic agreed to give it to Armenia and extradited in December 2019. Sargsyan recognized the blame on charged to him.
