In Yerevan, they do not expect peace agreement with Baku until end of year

Negotiations around a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan are in an active stage, but the document will not be ready until the end of the year. So said the Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan.

“negotiations on a peace agreement, on the normalization of Armenian -Azerbaijani relations are in an active stage. There is a document, each time is submitted in the new edition. We received the next proposals of the Azerbaijani side and make our next proposals,” Mirzoyan said.

It is hardly possible to come to the final version of the contract until the end of the year, so negotiations will continue next year, Mirzoyan added, Armenian media reports.

Mirzoyan did not exclude that by the end of this year a meeting of the heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Armenia may take place, but there are no agreements on the meeting at the level of heads of states.

According to him, the approaches of Yerevan and Baku in many issues are still very diverge, but they were negotiations to bring the positions of the parties closer, Mirzoyan noted. “There are mutually unacceptable questions, there are those on which the parties are ready for mutual steps towards,” he said.
