India: for first time since April, less than 200 thousand new cases of COVID-19 have revealed

less than 200 thousand cases of coronavirus have been identified in India for the first time since mid-April, the Ministry of Health has reported.

According to the latest data of the ministry, the total number of COVID-19 in the country exceeded 26.9 million people, more than 24 million were recovered, more than 307 thousand were died, and the number of treatment is 2.5 million. At the same time, 326,850 people recovered per day, the number of cases increased by 196,427 people.

India remains in second place in the world by the number of cases identified cases of coronavirus. From April 21 and to May 17, the number of new sicks every day exceeded 300 thousand people per day – more than in any other country of the world, and five times amounted to more than 400 thousand. The maximum number of coronavirus treated during the second pandemic wave was more than 3.7 million people.

The Ministry of Health of the countries noted the increase in the number of coronavirus vaccinated – more than 198 million people, or more than 14.5% of the country’s population.
