India will stop producing helicopters and buy them in Russia

India decided to be from the production of KA-226T helicopters on its territory, instead, it is planned to purchase already ready-made helicopters of this type, betrays Bloomberg with reference to high-ranking sources in the Indian government.

It is noted that the relevant decision will be discussed during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India next week.

In 2015, Russia and India signed an intergovernmental agreement on the supply of Russia of the Indian side of the light helicopters KA-226T and localization on its territory of production of such machines. The document involves the supply of 60 helicopters of Russian production and production in India another 140 cars with a level of localization of 50-70%.
