The volcano Semer on the island of Java in Indonesia on Wednesday in the morning again demonstrated increased activity.
According to the Antara News agency, the first eruption occurred at 05.24 by local time – the column of ash rose to a height of about 600 meters and began to shift in the northeastern direction. 10.08, observers recorded a second eruption accompanied by the release of ash to a similar height.
Semer – one of the most active volcanoes of the country. It is one of the approximately 130 existing volcanoes located on the territory of Indonesia, which is located in the zone of increased seismic activity, known as the “Fiery Pacific Ring”.
