The Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to free several settlements in a small part of the Kharkov region, which remained under the control of the army of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the Russian military has not yet been able to realize their main task from the environment of the city of Bakhmut. This is stated in the next summary of the situation on the Ukrainian front of the American Institute for Studying War (ISW).
In the summary, American experts write about battles under the city of Svatovo in the Lugansk region, in the direction of which the Ukrainian army is coming. Svatovo is an important transport hub, one of the main goals of the Armed Forces after the liberation of the Kharkov region.
, citing the data of the Ukrainian General Staff, ISW reports that the Russian military fired at Ukrainian positions about three settlements about 50 km from Svatovo and 15 km from the international border, which indicates some promotion of the Ukrainian army. The Russian Ministry of Defense also involuntarily admitted that the Ukrainian military took control of the village of Kislovka (25 km from Svatovo), because it announced that the APU command post was struck in it, the summary was noted.
As for the situation under Bakhmut, where the most fierce battles are going on, the summary says that Russian troops continue the offensive there, but could not achieve the city’s environment.
