In the city of Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan, the international marathon SCO RUN THE SILK ROAD-2024 was held. This is reported by the book “Kabar”.
The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baysalov, deputy agent Semi SHOSHAIL HAN, representatives of local authorities and specially invited guests.
The Marathon was attended by leading athletes of member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and members of the National Kyrgyz team in athletics.
About 3 thousand runners from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Belarus, the USA, Canada, Czech Republic, China, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Mongolia and many other countries came out to the start.
The marathon distance is certified by the International Association of Marathons and Rounds (AIMS) in accordance with the World Athletics Rules.
The marathon is included in the competition of the World Athletics.
The organizers noted that a marathon is an opportunity for athletes to earn additional points for a license for the Olympic Games.
