Iran And Russia Held Meeting On Regional Issues In Tehran

Secretary General of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani and Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Special Representative for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev discussed regional issues.

According to the Tesnim news agency, Larijani, during a meeting with Lavrentyev in the capital Tehran, assessed the strategic relations between the two countries, as well as regional and international questions.

Lavrentyev’s visit to Iran took place after Syrian President Ahmed al-Shar’s meeting with the Russian leadership last week.

On October 20, Lavrentyev also met in Tehran with Foreign Minister Abbas Erakchi.

The Iranian Foreign Minister noted that relations between the two countries are at a very good level, and expressed satisfaction with the expansion of cooperation. Lavrentiev, in turn, emphasized the “strategic partnership” between Iran and Russia and drew attention to the importance of consultations between the two countries on regional and international issues.
