Iran began to extract oil from a giant field

Iranian offshore oil company (IOOC) announced the start of production from the Giant Oil Deposit “Asmari” at the Southern Field “Abuzar”, Iran.ru reports with reference to the Shana Agency.

According to Javad Rostami, head of the IOOC oil engineering department, this success is achieved for the first time in the development history.

The official noted that on the basis of previous research and evaluation of production results from the new well, plans for the drilling of additional wells for the further development of this layer are being developed, and it is predicted that when drilling five to eight new wells from this tank can be obtained from 6,000 to 10,000 barrels of oil.

The Abuzar field is located 76 km south-west of Harg Island in Persian Gulf. His prey, which is now about 200,000 barrels per day, after processing is sent through the pipeline to the island for export. 107 oil wells were drilled here, of which 90 are in operation, and the rest are idle due to age and technical problems.
