Iranian President Masud Ceseshkin said that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) should take specific steps to form a more peaceful and economic interaction of world order. With such an appeal, he made a meeting of the Council of Heads of the SCO state in the Chinese city of Tianjin.
Cyezeshkin proposed to create a committee of crises from foreign ministers of the participating countries that can quickly respond to violations of sovereignty and threat of regional stability. “Iran believes that the SCO, which is an important support for a multipolar international order, should take specific steps to build a more peaceful and favorable for economic cooperation of the world,” he emphasized.
The Iranian leader also made two special proposals: the need to strengthen the “construction of the world” and expand financial interaction to reduce the consequences of unilateral sanctions. He recalled that Western restrictions cause damage to the economic relations of the Member States, and called for the development of calculations in national currencies, digital infrastructure and multilateral currency clearing fund as part of the SCO special accounts.
Cyeshkin noted that Iran is ready to use his geopolitical position to deepen regional cooperation. In particular, he pointed out the strategic significance of the connection of the Port Chabahar with the National railway network, which will provide additional access to China, the countries of Central Asia and Afghanistan.
Iranian President emphasized that the 10-year SCO development strategy opens up wide opportunities for cooperation in the field of infrastructure, technology, energy and digital economy. He also supported the call of the Chairman of China Xi Jinping to reform the global administration, noting the importance of these initiatives to build a more fair and multipolar world order.
