Iran will begin delivery of Turkmen gas to Azerbaijan from December 22

The swap supplies of Turkmen gas to Azerbaijan through the territory of Iran will begin on December 22 of this year, said Iranian Minister Javad Oudy.

According to the minister, Iran began negotiations with Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan on the issue of rope supplies of gas on its territory two months ago, as a result of which a contract was signed between three countries.

Mehr agency reports that “this contract is indefinite.” According to the publication, Iran will be able to meet the needs of Gaza five of its provinces, delivering Turkmen natural gas to Azerbaijan as part of the SWAP contract.

“At present, Iran’s share in world trade of gas is about two percent. Measures will be taken to increase this indicator,” added Duzzi.

November 28 in Ashgabat Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkmenistan signed a contract for the swap supply of gas. According to the document, Turkmen gas will be delivered to Azerbaijan on the territory of Iran in the amount of up to 1.5-2 billion cubic meters per year.
