Iran Will Hold Negotiations In Istanbul With Great Britain, France And Germany

Representatives of Iran and Eurotroshka (Great Britain, France and Germany) will meet in Istanbul on May 16 with the aim of consulting on the issue of nuclear program and lifting sanctions.

According to the news site “Irannuances”, broadcasting from Tehran, the meeting will be held at the level of deputy ministers.

The negotiation process between Iran and the USA under the nuclear program continues with the participation of Oman. The parties said that negotiations are in a positive way.

During the negotiations, Iran announced his readiness to turn his nuclear program in exchange for the abolition of US unilateral sanctions. Moreover, European countries do not participate in negotiations.

The meeting between the representatives of Iran and the Eurotroshka was supposed to take place in Rome on May 2, but was canceled after negotiations between the USA and Iran were postponed.

Iran is concerned that European countries will use the so -called “trigger”, which can lead to the restoration of the United Nations (UN) sanctions, which were lifted as part of a nuclear agreement signed in 2015. The validity of this mechanism expires on October 18. If the decision on the nuclear program of Iran is not found, it is assumed that European countries can activate the mechanism before this date.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi in an article published in the French newspaper Le Point on May 11, said that “abuse of the trigger mechanism would entail consequences.”

“This situation can mean not only the end of the European role in the agreement, but also the escalation of tension, which can become irreversible,” he said.

Arakchi called on European countries to negotiate with Iran under the nuclear program.

In 2015, Great Britain, Germany, China, the USA, France and Iran entered into a nuclear agreement that provides for the lifting of sanctions in exchange for restricting the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic.
