Iraq and Iran began building railway between two countries

The authorities of Iraq and Iran began building a railway between the border post of Shalamche and the city of Basra to organize passenger transportation, the Iraqi television channel “As-Sumaria”.

The Bookmark of the foundation was attended by the Prime Minister of Iraq Muhammad al-Sudani and Iranian Vice President Mohamad Mokhber.

Mokhber noted that the railway project (Shalamche-Basra) is strategic for Iran and Iraq.

According to him, he will connect the railways between the two countries and complement international transport routes for transporting passengers from Central Asia to Iraq.
