Islamabad reported on plan for placement of Pakistani Taliban in Afghanistan

A high -ranking source in the intelligence services of Pakistan announced a preliminary coordination of the issue of placing militants of the prohibited Pakistani movement Taliban (TTP) in the West of Afghanistan, subject to the reimbursement of all costs of the Pakistani side.

The source recalled that the TTP issue remains one of the key factors of tension in the relations of two Asian countries, which leads to frequent skirmishes on the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Pakistan requires Afghanistan to prevent TTP militants from Afghan territory and completely eliminate this threat. Although the Afghan movement “Taliban”, which seized power in Afghanistan in August 2021 and promised to take steps against Pakistani Taliban, the situation did not change.

In response to the next attacks of TTP militants in the border area, Pakistan Air Force in April last year struck the objects of prohibited movement.

A source in Pakistan intelligence services recalled that Pakistani Taliban in previous years helped the Afghan Taliban in the fight against the United States, so there is a certain “proximity” between these organizations.

According to him, Afghan Taliban invited Islamabad to disarm the Pakistani Taliban and place them in the west of Afghanistan, but they noted that they did not have the financial opportunity to resolve this issue. “Afghan Taliban said they do not have the appropriate infrastructure for placing TTP members in Afghanistan. We, in response, said that we are ready to finance this project. Of course, we are talking about hundreds of millions of dollars,” the source said.

According to him, the final agreement has not yet been reached, but “there is a general understanding.” At the same time, the real steps have not yet been taken.
