Islamic Economics And Finance Summit Started In Istanbul

The 13th Summit on Islamic Economics and Finance has begun in Istanbul.

The event is taking place at Bogazici University.

The summit is organized by the Center for Islamic Economic Research (IKAM) at the ILKE Foundation. Anadolu Agency serves as the global communications partner for the event.

ILKE Foundation Chairman Ahmet Saik Oner noted in his opening speech that his organization is making efforts to develop an economic model that “protects people and labor, and minimizes the injustice of economic systems.”

According to him, the work of the ILKE Foundation emphasizes a “fair approach to financing.” Öner noted that Turkey is on track to become a global center for participatory finance.

IKAM Director Melih Turan, in turn, indicated, that from once a seminar on Islamic economics, the summit has transformed into an event covering both the scientific field and the financial sector.

As part of the eighth Islamic Economics Awards ceremony, the summit presented awards in the categories of Contribution, Research, Dissertation and Education.

During the day at the summit There will be several panel discussions.
