Israel: a parade on Victory Day was canceled on May 9

Israeli authorities decided to “refrain from public events and processions on May 9 in view of the Russian war against Ukraine,” according to the Account of the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel.

Minister of Repatriation and Integration of Israeli Pnin Tameno-Shte said that she knows about the “existing delicate situation” and that at the traditional ceremony on Mount Herzl this year, the main attention will be paid to the contribution of the veterans to the victory over Nazi Germany.

She emphasized that the decision to cancel the parade and the nature of the ceremony was made together with Israeli organizations of veterans of the Second World War.
