Ambassador Israel in Moscow Alexander Ben-Tsvi was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry for an explanatory conversation in connection with the latest statements of the Israeli government about the war in Ukraine. It is reported by the Israeli 9th TV channel.

According to information, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Middle East and the countries of Africa, the deputy head of the Russian foreign policy department, Mikhail Bogdanov, the former Russian ambassador to Israel.

According to Israeli media, Bogdanov expressed bewilderment due to the fact that Israel condemns the “attack against the Nazis.” According to the official report of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Bogdanov expressed the hope that “in Israel with due understanding will be treated for the reasons that prompted the Russian leadership to decide on the conduct of a special military operation to protect civilians Donbass, demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine.”

In the report, it is noted that during the conversation “From the Russian side, special attention was paid to the need to continue efforts to preserve the historical truth about World War II, Holocaust and Countering the attempts of the heroization of Nazism.”

In response, Ben-CVI announced the Israeli position, according to which the Jewish state is concerned about the situation and hopes for the diplomatic solution of the conflict.
