Israel secretly asked United States to stop Turkey

Israel secretly asked the US Presidential Administration Joe Biden to put pressure on Turkey and prevent it from conducting a special operation against Kurdish militants in Northern Syria. This was announced by the Axios portal with reference to two unnamed Israeli officials.

According to the sources of the portal, this issue was discussed between the head of the Israeli National Security Council Eyalle Hulata and the US Presidential Advisor Jake Sullivan. In the conversation of Hulat, he warned that the campaign announced by the President of Turkey would damage Kurdish detachments that control the northeast of Syria, and could open gateways for Iranian expansion in the long term.

Earlier in Infopol, news appeared about the interest of the Israelis in supporting the Kurds of Syria regions controlled by Kurds. In 2019, the current Minister of Internal Affairs of Israeli, Alete Shaked, stated that the appearance of a separate state in the north of Syria would correspond to the interests of both the Israelis and the USA.

However, according to experts, the support of the Kurds in Syria is a too risky task for Jerusalem, especially now, when Turkey and Israel are trying to normalize relations.
