Istanbul Peace Negotiations – Buddhist Monk Prays For Peace In Istanbul

Buddhist monk Junsai Jarasawa from Japan arrived in Istanbul to support peace negotiations, and prayed for the “speedy, fair, strong and real return of the world to Ukraine.”

The Japanese priest Junzay served near the president’s office in Dolmabakhche, where negotiations will be held.

Junzey, Japanese by birth, lived in Russia and Ukraine .. he learned about peace negotiations when he was in India, and came to Istanbul to express his support to the peace process.

Remembering the beginning of the war in February 2022, Junzay says “I learned about it 3 years ago, being in Kyiv.”

The provisor noted that the Buddhist community from the beginning of the war “constantly prays for peace in Ukraine.”

According to him, they also pray for the Russian people. He criticized the policy of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Junzay, in accordance with traditional beliefs, held a ritual on the pier on the coast of the city, calling peace negotiations in Istanbul “very important and critical.”

“We pray for the speedy return of a fair, strong and true world to Ukraine,” the monk emphasized.
