ISW: offensive of Russians in Zaporizhzhya region failed

The attempt to advance in the Zaporizhzhya region, which was undertaken by the Russians, apparently, has failed. This is how experts of the American Institute for War Study (ISW) believe. They are quoted by BBC.

“Russian forces did not achieve any confirmed territorial acquisitions, despite the ongoing statements of one representative of the occupation authorities,” ISW writes, citing information from open sources from both sides.

By this representative of the occupation authorities, ISW has in mind the deputy head of the administration of the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhya region Vladimir Rogov, however, information about the capture of several villages of 30 km south of Zaporozhye and other Russian sources were distributed with comments.

The Institute for the Study of the War explains that in the existing videos (from drones), the group of Russian military moves two to three kilometers south of the small Shcherbakov and Novodanilovka – settlements, about which horns and others reported. In addition, now Russian military bloggers say that the Ukrainians held the defense line here, and the Russian army returned to the artillery shelling of these settlements.

“Rogs can promote the narrative of their tactical successes in the Zaporizhzhya region in order to create positive narratives and distract Russians from the absence of the promised progress in Bakhmut … The inconsistency between the high expectations assigned to Russian information operations on the bamouth, and the inability of Russian troops quickly their own It is a current vulnerability in the Russian information space, which Rogov may try to hide, ”said ISW.
